Carl Weilman allowed 2 hits while blanking Washington and Del Pratt had 3 base
hits as the St. Louis Browns defeated the Washington Nationals in 10 innings
by the score of 1 to 0 at Griffith Stadium.

The score was a scoreless tie after nine. Finally, St. Louis pulled the game
out in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Doc Lavan was hit by a
pitch. Burt Shotton followed next and he reached on an error. Shotton dug
into the batters box next, but he struck out. Pratt was up next and he
stroked a base-hit scoring the run. St. Louis had only 6 hits for the
afternoon.

For Weilman(13-9) it was his 2nd shutout this year. Harry Harper(2-4) took the
loss. He was a hard-luck loser as he did not allow an earned run in his 10
innings of work.
