In a one-sided affiar at Fenway Park the final score was the Boston Red Sox 8,
the Cincinnati Reds 2.

Boston took the lead for keeps in the 5th inning when they scored 2 runs on 3
hits.  The key at-bat was by Ted Williams who made the crowd happy when he
lined a single plating two runs.  Boston had a total of 10 hits for the game.

Fred Hutchinson(8-8) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 5 innings. Hutchinson
got help from Tommy Byrne who earned his 4th save.  Monty Kennedy(5-9) was
hit with the loss.  He allowed Boston 8 runs in 6 innings of work.  

The Boston ballclub's record now stands at 52-59.  Not able to get much going
in recent weeks, Cincinnati is 2-8 of late and now has an overall record of
44-63, worst in the league.
