WEB GEMS- Bot 6th: Al Maul robbed George Decker of an extra base hit.

Frank Donnelly allowed Cap Anson to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
at South Side Park where the Chicago Colts beat the Washington Senators in 10
innings 4 to 3.

The score was tied at 3 after nine. Finally, Chicago prevailed in the 10th
inning. George Decker drew a walk. Decker swiped second base. Lew Camp
then reached on an error. Malachi Kittridge followed and he drew a walk to
load the bases. After an out was recorded, Jiggs Parrott came to bat and
lined a single giving Chicago the win and sending the home town fans into a
frenzy. Chicago totaled 11 hits on the afternoon.

Donnelly(1-1), allowing 3 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Duke
Esper(10-16) was tagged with the loss. 'I was a little good, a little bad
and a little ugly.' said Donnelly, 'I was just giving us a chance to win.'
