Shortstop Honus Wagner had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the
New York Giants by a score of 17 to 9.

Wagner led the offense for Pittsburgh.  He ripped a one-base hit which brought
home a run in the 1st inning, lined a single scoring a run in the 4th inning,
slapped a base-hit in the 6th inning and cracked a solo homerun in the 9th
inning.  Pittsburgh kept the scorekeepers busy in the 9th inning which saw
them plate 5 runs on 5 hits.  The Pittsburgh offense poured it on, scoring in
8 of the 9 innings.  

Ed Doheny(10-10) picked up the victory, allowing 9 runs in 8 innings. Christy
Mathewson(15-15) suffered the loss.  He served up 3 homeruns in his 8 and 1/3
innings.
