4,298 fans were treated to a fine game at Sportsman'S Park as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The St. Louis-AL Browns won by the

Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings. St. Louis-AL came
out the victor in the 10th inning. Larry McLean slapped a one-base hit.
Sherry Magee stepped into the batter's box and he doubled. Jack Barry then
was walked intentionally to load the bases. After an out was recorded, Del
Gainer came to the plate and laced a base-hit giving St. Louis-AL the win and
sending the home town fans into a frenzy. St. Louis-AL had 13 hits overall,
while Cincinnati had 9.

The winning pitcher was Claude Hendrix(5-6) who allowed 1 run in 2 innings.
