one-run game at Sportsman's Park.  The final score was the St. Louis Browns
4, the Philadelphia Athletics 3.

St. Louis scored 2 runs in the decisive 6th inning.  St. Louis managed 7 hits
in their victory.  Earl Hamilton(4-8) got credit for the victory, pitching 8
and 1/3 innings and allowing 3 runs. Hamilton got relief help from Lefty
George who gained credit for his 1st save.  Eddie Plank(13-9) was hit with
the loss.  He allowed 4 runs and 7 hits in 8 innings.  

'I was a little good, a little bad and a little ugly.' said Hamilton, 'I was
just giving us a chance to win.'
