The Cincinnati Reds endured an embarrassing pasting as a potent Pittsburgh
Pirates lineup tallied 14 runs while Bob Turley(12-6), with relief help from
Jack Harshman, surrendered 2 runs to Cincinnati.

In the 2nd inning Pittsburgh went on top for good scoring 4 runners on 4 hits.
That was all the runs Turley needed.  Pittsburgh had 18 hits for the game
and Cincinnati had 9.  

Willard Nixon(6-6) absorbed the loss.  He got hit hard, allowing 9 hits and 4
walks in 6 innings.
