Center fielder Elmer Flick collected 2 extra-base hits and had 2 RBI and Otto
Hess allowed Nap Lajoie to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at
American League Park as the smoking-hot Cleveland Naps beat the Washington
Nationals by the count of 7 to 4.

The game started off with Cleveland taking the lead in the first plating an
isolated run utilizing 2 base hits.  After two were out Terry Turner laced a
one-base hit.  Lajoie stepped into the batter's box and he tripled scoring
the run.  Cleveland managed 13 hits in their victory.  

Hess(21-3) lasted until the end allowing 4 runs for the win. Casey
Patten(9-13) took the loss.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 13 hits and 4
walks in 9 innings.
