Terry Turner had 4 hits and 2 RBI and Bob Rhoads tossed a complete game as the
blistering-hot Cleveland Naps defeated the hopeless Washington Nationals 13
to 4 at American League Park.

The Washington fans didn't appreciate the big day Turner had. He doubled in
the 3rd inning, stroked a single in the 5th inning, doubled bringing in a run
in the 8th inning and ripped a one-base hit which scored a run in the 9th
inning. Cleveland provided plenty of action in the 7th inning with 3 runs on
3 hits and the 9th inning when they had 3 runs on 4 hits. Cleveland
dominated offensively as they scored in 6 different innings.

The victory was credited to Rhoads(13-7) who went the distance, allowing 4
runs. Long Tom Hughes(5-16) was the losing pitcher. He allowed 15 hits and 4
walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
