In an exciting finish the Chicago-NL Cubs pulled out a win over the
Philadelphia-AL Athletics by a score of 9 to 8 at West Side Park.

The deciding run was scored by Chicago-NL in the bottom of the 9th.  Chief
Wilson drew a walk.  Art Wilson stepped up to the plate and he laid down a
sacrifice bunt.  One out later, Rube Oldring then lashed a single making
Chicago-NL the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration.
Chicago-NL had a total of 14 hits for the game.  

Byron Houck(7-7) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1/3 of an inning.
Joe Benz(4-6) was charged with the loss in relief.  He pitched 2/3 of an
inning and surrendered 1 hit and 1 walk.
