WEB GEMS- Bot 9th: Al Shaw robbed Charlie Eakle of an extra base hit.

Right fielder Grover Gilmore rocketed 2 homeruns and had 7 RBI as the Kansas
City Packers defeated the league door-mat Baltimore Terrapins 13 to 5 at
Terrapin Park.

Gilmore really lit it up for Kansas City. The Baltimore fans let him have it
for what he did to their boys. He smacked a three-run homer in the 2nd
inning, ripped a base-hit in the 5th inning, clubbed a three-run home run in
the 7th inning and doubled in the 9th inning. Overall Kansas City out-hit
Baltimore 17 to 8.

Chief Johnson(12-14) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 2/3 innings
and allowing 3 runs. Chief Bender(9-13) was tagged with the loss. Kansas
City knocked him around a bit, as he gave up 13 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings.

'Gilmore led the way - we just jumped on his back and let him take us,'
Johnson said. 'I'm glad I don't have to face him. I'm glad he's on my team.'
