Tommy Henrich had 4 hits and 7 RBI and Elmer Riddle shut Cincinnati down as
the Cleveland Indians bested the Cincinnati Reds 13 to 10 at Crosley
Field.

Henrich had a big day at the plate. He clubbed a two-run home run in the 3rd
inning, delivered a base-hit which was good for two runs in the 4th inning,
doubled with all three baserunners touching home in the 7th inning and
doubled in the 9th inning. Cleveland kept the scorekeepers busy in the 7th
inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 4 hits. Cleveland had many
opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6 separate innings.

The winning pitcher was Howie Pollet(9-6) who allowed 4 runs in 1 and 1/3
innings. Pollet got help from Riddle who earned his 3rd save. Preacher
Roe(7-5) was the losing pitcher in relief. He got hit pretty hard, allowing
5 hits and 2 walks in 2 innings.
