In a good matchup it was the Washington Nationals 7, the Boston-AL Red Sox 4
at Griffith Stadium.
Boston-AL never recovered after Washington took the lead in the bottom of the
3rd inning when they tallied 3 runs on 2 hits. Jim Konstanty(6-6) got relief
help from Ted Gray who was excellent in relief and gained credit for his 1st
save.
Max Lanier(5-11) was charged with the loss. He was knocked around by
Washington, allowing 8 hits and 3 walks in 4 innings.
