Pop Snyder had 3 base hits and 5 RBI and Will White allowed Snyder to rest his
bullpen, tossing a complete game at Bank Street Grounds where the Cincinnati
Red Stockings beat the Philadelphia Athletics by the score of 14 to
7.

Snyder helped send the fans home happy. He hit a single bringing in a run in
the 1st inning, slapped a one-base hit knocking in a run in the 3rd inning
and ripped a base-hit resulting in a run in the 4th inning. Cincinnati bats
were hot in the 3rd inning when they had 6 runs on 7 hits and the 4th inning
which saw them plate 5 runs on 5 hits. Philadelphia scored in 5 different
innings, but their shaky pitching kept them from victory.

White(28-8) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 7 runs. Bill
Sweeney(6-11) was the losing pitcher. He was knocked around pretty good,
giving up 14 runs in 8 innings.

Cincinnati continued on their recent roll, their winning streak now reaching 6
games and counting.
