Bill Sweeney pitched 9 strong innings as the red-hot Baltimore Monumentals
topped the reeling Boston Reds by a score of 7 to 2 at Dartmouth
Grounds.
Baltimore scored 4 runs in the decisive 7th inning when they came up with 3
base hits. The key at-bat was by Emmett Seery who quieted the crowd when he
stroked a one-base hit bringing in two baserunners. Baltimore totaled 9 hits
on the afternoon.
Sweeney(29-17) finished the game allowing 2 runs in the victory. Dupee
Shaw(9-4) was hit with the loss. Despite losing, he struckout 13 Baltimore
batters in 9 innings.
In another of a string of victories, Baltimore extended their winning streak
to 7 games. Bill Henderson was in a talkative mood after the ballgame.
