Jocko Halligan had 2 base hits and 3 RBI and Ed Crane completed the game
without help from the bullpen as the Cincinnati Reds pulled out a win over
the Pittsburg Pirates by a score of 10 to 9 at League Park.

Cincinnati scored the deciding run in the 9th inning. Germany Smith drew a
walk. Jerry Harrington came next and he grounded into a double play. Arlie
Latham then delivered a base-hit. Latham took off for second and slid in
with a stolen base. Bid McPhee stepped into the box and drew a walk.
Halligan extended the rally and doubled resulting in a mighty exciting win
for Cincinnati and the 1,553 home town fans in attendance. Cincinnati simply
wore out the Pittsburg pitching staff, scoring in 6 different innings.

Crane(1-0) was the winner allowing 9 runs for the game. Al Maul(2-3) ended up
with the loss in relief. 'I didn't have my best stuff but sometimes you just
get lucky,' Crane said, 'this was one of those times.'
