The Boston-AL Red Sox readily handled Cincinnati Reds by a score of 9 to 5 at
Palace of the Fans.

Jim Delahanty enjoyed a great day at the plate.  He smacked a three-run homer
in the 6th inning, laced a single bringing in a run in the 8th inning and
tripled scoring two baserunners in the 9th inning.  Boston-AL had 12 hits for
the afternoon.  

Doc Crandall(13-8) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 3 innings.
Mordecai Brown(6-14) was tagged with the loss in relief.  He allowed 1 run
and 3 hits in 2 innings.  

Delahanty was in a good mood after the game, 'I'm just seeing and hitting the
ball real well now.  I made some adjustments last week and they are paying
off.  That's what this game is about. making adjustments as the season goes
along.'
