15,094 fans watched an exciting game at West Side Park.  The St. Louis-AL
Browns topped the Chicago-NL Cubs by the slimmest of margins, 6 to 5.

St. Louis-AL scored the deciding run in the top of the 9th inning.  Tillie
Walker reached on an error.  Clyde Milan stepped up next and he lined a
base-hit.  Bill Sweeney then grounded into a double play.  Stuffy McInnis
followed next and he tripled scoring the run.  St. Louis-AL had 12 hits for
the afternoon.  

The winning pitcher was Claude Hendrix(6-6) who allowed 2 runs in 1 and 1/3
innings. Eddie Plank(11-11) was given the loss in relief.  He was pinned with
the loss despite not allowing an earned run in his 2 innings of work.
