The Washington Nationals won by a final score of 6 to 0. Geggus had overwhelming stuff this afternoon. He simply never gave the Wilmington batters a decent pitch to drive. He only walked one Wilmington batter. The tension was mounting with every inning after the 6th. Geggus appeared oblivious himself to the mounting history until two were out in the 9th. Only then, did he allow himself one deep sigh and a slow trip around the mound. Geggus recorded 10 strikeouts. Washington banged out 11 hits on the afternoon. John Murphy(5-7) was the loser. When asked how his stuff was out there, Geggus looked a bit incredulous (as did this reporter) and replied 'A bit better than average, I'd have to say' SCORESHEET: 1884 Wilmington Quicksteps at 1884 Washington Nationals T.Lynch-A1 A1:K *4*:W>b1 *7*:G/43 D1:K T.Nolan-A1 A2:F/7 B2:G-DP/6 C2:G/3 43>1o J.Say-A1 A3:K B3:K C3:F/9 C.Bastia-A1 *2*:F/9 *5*:P/3 *8*:K D.Sheaha-A1 A5:P/6 B5:G/63 C5:K A.Cusick-A1 A6:F/8 B6:K C6:L/5 J.Munce-A1 *3*:K *6*:K *9*:E/4 J.Murphy-A1 A8:G/53 B8:K C8:PB>12 G/53 R.Snyder-A1 A9:F/8 B9:G/53 C9:L/3 H.Moore-A1 A1:Do B1:L-DP/3 *5*:Si D1:SB>12 4>2o CS/25>2o G/43 P.Baker-A1 A2:Si>23 B2:F/9 C2:G-DP/3 *8*:Do 63>1o A.Powell-A1 A3:SB>12 *3*:G/43 C3:G/43 D3:FC/65> L/4 2o C.Fulmer-A1 A4:SF/8>3 B4:E/4 *6*:Si D4:Si>13 # J.McCorm-A1 A5:Si>2# B5:P/6 C5:E(foul D5:Do>3# )/2 Force 1# /54>1o b1 J.Halpin-A1 A6:Do>1# B6:P/3 C6:F/8 D6:Si+E/5 >2# C.Geggus-A1 A7:E/6>23 *4*:G/13 C7:K D7:G/63>2 3 T.Evers-A1 A8:P/3 B8:K *7*:G/43 D8:F/7 J.Gunson-A1 *2*:Do B9:L/4 C9:E/5
