Lefty Leifield delivered 9 solid innings and shortstop Honus Wagner had 4 hits
and 4 RBI at Baker Bowl as the very potent Pittsburgh Pirates beat the
Philadelphia Phillies by the count of 7 to 0.

Wagner was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day
at their team's expense. He doubled in the 2nd inning, laced a one-base hit
in the 4th inning, lashed a single scoring a run in the 7th inning and
clubbed a three-run home run in the 9th inning. Pittsburgh had 9 hits for
the afternoon.

For Leifield(13-7) it was his 4th shutout this year. Earl Moore(11-12) was the
loser. He pitched 9 innings giving up 9 hits and 5 walks.
