Third baseman Home Run Baker had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Philadelphia-AL
Athletics bested the Pittsburgh Pirates 10 to 7 at Shibe Park.

Pittsburgh was unable to recover after Philadelphia-AL went ahead in the 6th
inning plating 2 runs on 4 hits.  After an out was recorded, Tris Speaker got
things rolling when he lined a one-base hit.  Baker stepped up to the plate
and he doubled driving in a run.  Paddy Baumann then singled scoring the
final run of the inning.  Philadelphia-AL kept the pressure on throughout the
contest as they scored in 6 different innings.  

Joe Benz(2-1) was the winner allowing 1 run in 3 innings. Bill James earned
his 7th save.  Lefty Tyler(14-14) absorbed the loss.  He got hammered,
allowing 13 hits and 3 walks in 7 innings.
