The Cincinnati Reds bested the Washington Nationals by a 9 to 5 score at
Crosley Field.

Cincinnati came up with 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning with the help
of 3 hits.  They would prove to be the difference in the contest.  Both teams
totaled 10 hits on the night.  

Preacher Roe(12-11) allowed 3 runs in 6 innings, and picked up the victory.
Bob Miller earned the save, his 16th.  Warren Spahn(13-10) ended up with the
loss.  He was not very effective, surrendering 8 runs in 7 innings.  

Wth the win Cincinnati now has a record of 67-59.  With this loss, Washington
has a 3-7 record of late, 64-66 overall.
