Jim Delsing homered and had 2 RBI at Ebbets Field where the Cincinnati Reds
beat the awful Brooklyn Dodgers 4 to 2.

Brooklyn never recovered after Cincinnati took the lead in the 7th inning
scoring one runner on 2 base hits.  Brooklyn tried unsuccessfully to come
back in the 9th.  

Paul Minner(6-11) went 8 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Ernie Johnson
preserved the game for Minner, recording his his 24th save.  The losing
pitcher was Art Fowler(9-7).  

'We lose our concentration for one pitch, and we lose the game.' Roy Purcell
said after the game.  'Maybe now these guys will listen when I say they have
to concentrate on EVERY pitch.'
