Scott Stratton tossed a complete game at Eclipse Park as the Louisville
Colonels won a thriller over the Baltimore Orioles in, 9 to 8.
The deciding run was scored by Louisville in the 9th. Farmer Weaver lined a
base-hit, and an error was also committed. After an out was recorded,
Charley Bassett came up and he doubled giving Louisville the win and sending
the home town fans into a frenzy. This was the kind of game that many fans
love as the lead changed hands 5 times.
The win went to Stratton(16-9) who allowed 8 runs in the game. George
Cobb(10-19) was the loser. He allowed 14 hits and 4 walks in 8 and 1/3
innings.
