Second baseman Dan McGann jacked one out of the ballyard and had 2 RBI at
South End Grounds as the Boston Beaneaters won in dramatic fashion coming
back to beat the Pittsburg Pirates by the count of 8 to 7.

Boston won the game with a rally in the 9th inning with 2 runs utilizing 2
base hits.  Hugh Duffy opened up the inning nicely when he lined a base-hit.
Pink Hawley then picked Duffy off first base.  Herman Long then drew a walk.
After an out was recorded, McGann stepped up to the plate and he smashed a
two-run homer resulting in an exciting win for Boston and a wild post-game
celebration by the home town fans.  Boston managed 13 hits in their victory.

Jack Stivetts(14-14) allowed no runs in 1/3 of an inning, and picked up the
victory. The loss was charged to Hawley(17-17).  He was unable to control the
Boston offense and allowed 13 hits and 3 walks in 8 and 2/3 innings.
