Philadelphia scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 9th inning plating 3 runs utilizing 2 base hits. Ed Delahanty got things going when he reached on an error. Nap Lajoie stepped into the batter's box and he slapped a base-hit. After an out was recorded, Jack Clements then drew a walk to load the bases. Al Orth followed and he reached on an error plating a run. Ed McFarland came to the plate and hit a sacrifice fly scoring another run. Phil Geier joined his teammates in the uprising and was hit by a pitch. Cooley was next and he ripped a single resulting in an exciting win for Philadelphia and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. A wild and woolly affair, this game saw the lead change 5 times. Taylor(11-16), allowing 9 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Percy Coleman(5-2) took the loss in relief.
