Center fielder Duff Cooley had 5 hits and 2 RBI and Jack Taylor went the
distance as the Philadelphia Phillies rallied impressively to win in dramatic
style over pathetic St. Louis Browns, 10 to 9.

Philadelphia scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 9th inning
plating 3 runs utilizing 2 base hits. Ed Delahanty got things going when he
reached on an error. Nap Lajoie stepped into the batter's box and he slapped
a base-hit. After an out was recorded, Jack Clements then drew a walk to
load the bases. Al Orth followed and he reached on an error plating a run.
Ed McFarland came to the plate and hit a sacrifice fly scoring another run.
Phil Geier joined his teammates in the uprising and was hit by a pitch.
Cooley was next and he ripped a single resulting in an exciting win for
Philadelphia and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. A
wild and woolly affair, this game saw the lead change 5 times.

Taylor(11-16), allowing 9 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Percy
Coleman(5-2) took the loss in relief. He gave up 2 hits and 1 walk in 2/3 of
an inning.
