Ed Delahanty had 3 base hits at Eclipse Park where the Philadelphia Phillies
beat the Louisville Colonels in 14 innings by the score of 4 to 2.

The game was deadlocked at 1 after nine full innings. Philadelphia came out
on top in the 14th inning. Red Donahue led off and got things going when he
reached on an error. After an out was recorded, Donahue then stole second
base. Klondike Douglass then stroked a one-base hit knocking in a run.
Delahanty was up next and he doubled scoring another run. Philadelphia
continued their aggressive style with another stolen base. Nap Lajoie added
to the rally and hit a deep fly scoring the final run of the inning.
Louisville had 12 hits in the game while Philadelphia had 8, but Philadelphia
had the more timely hits.

The victory was credited to Donahue(13-11) who went 13 and 1/3 innings,
allowing 2 runs. Davey Dunkle recorded his 1st save. The losing pitcher was
Bert Cunningham(14-13). He gave up just 4 runs and 8 hits in 14 innings.

'He gutted it out' Billy Nash said of Donahue. 'I was very impressed by his
tenacity.'
