Deacon Phillippe allowed Fred Clarke to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete
game at Palace Of The Fans where the amazing Pittsburgh Pirates beat the
Cincinnati Reds by the score of 2 to 1.

Pittsburgh scored 2 runs in the decisive top of the 2nd inning.  That was all
Phillippe(16-7) needed.  Neither team managed to score after the 2nd inning.

Bill Phillips(13-10) was tagged with the loss.  He was pinned with the loss
despite not allowing an earned run in his 9 innings of work.
