TEAM RISP- Cubs: 4 for 13 Superbas: 3 for 11

Jake Daubert had 2 base hits at Washington Park as the Brooklyn Superbas beat
the Chicago Cubs 9 to 7.

Brooklyn came through with the game-winning runs in the 8th inning scoring 3
runs using 4 hits. Tex Erwin opened up the inning nicely when he slapped a
single. Otto Miller followed next and he tripled bringing in a run. Bert
Tooley then hit a single bringing in another run. Daubert followed and he
ripped a single. Daubert was safe on a stolen base. After another out,
Dolly Stark came to bat and hit a deep fly scoring the final run of the
inning. Chicago threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

Doc Scanlan(5-7) got the win allowing no runs in 1 inning. Elmer Knetzer
earned his 5th save. Ed Reulbach(8-10) took the loss. He allowed a few too
many baserunners giving up 10 hits and 4 walks in 7 innings.

The win by Brooklyn was very good news as they had been 2-8 of late. Now
their seasonal record improves to 35-76. Chicago can't seem to snap out of
their recent 'funk'. Now they have a miserable 2-8 record over the last
couple weeks.
