First baseman Stuffy McInnis had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the mighty
Philadelphia Athletics topped the St. Louis Browns by a score of 5 to 4 at
Shibe Park.

Byron Houck(11-3) had a solid outing for Philadelphia.  He surrendered 5 hits
and 12 walks in 8 and 2/3 innings.  Philadelphia out-hit St. Louis for the
game, 12 hits to 5.  

Eddie Plank recorded his 1st save.  Buddy Napier(1-4) was hit with the loss.
He allowed 12 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings.  'It wasn't my best outing, but
I'll take the win' Houck said.
