Pittsburgh Pirates broke the deadlock in their last at bats, pulling out a 3
to 2 win over the Cincinnati Reds and sending their hometown fans home
smiling.

The deciding run was scored by Pittsburgh in the 9th.  After two outs Billy
Cox delivered a base-hit.  Hoot Evers came next and he ripped a one-base hit.
Hank Sauer then lined a single resulting in an exciting win for Pittsburgh
and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans.  Pittsburgh rapped
out 9 hits for the afternoon.  

The win went to Schoolboy Rowe(6-7) who allowed no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings.
Randy Gumpert(4-4) was given the loss in relief.  With this win, Pittsburgh
has a 48-83 record.  They have been 4-6 lately.  With the loss Cincinnati now
has a record of 78-45.
