The slumping New York Yankees pitching staff was overwhelmed by the Cleveland
Indians lineup who plated 12 runs while Howie Pollet(13-3)with bullpen help
allowed New York 4 runs.

The game started off with Cleveland taking the lead in the first when they
scored 6 runs on 6 hits. That early run support was enough for Pollet and
Cleveland. Overall Cleveland out-hit New York 16 to 7.

Mel Parnell(13-11) was tagged with the loss. He pitched 1 inning and
surrendered 8 hits and 3 walks.
