The Cleveland Indians put a halt to their 5 game losing streak and edged the
Brooklyn Dodgers at Municipal Stadium by the score of 2 to 1.

Cleveland had 2 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 7th inning with the
help of 3 hits.  They would be enough to earn the win.  Neither team was able
to score until the 7th inning.  

The victory went to Billy Hoeft(10-6) who went 7 and 1/3 innings, allowing 1
run. Sandy Consuegra preserved the game for Hoeft, recording his his 5th
save.  Gene Conley(2-5) ended up with the loss in relief.  He allowed 2 runs
and 2 hits in 1/3 of an inning.  

Wth the win Cleveland now has a record of 44-63.  With the loss Brooklyn now
has a record of 49-58.
