WEB GEMS- Top 5th: Joe Quinn robbed Tip O'Neill of a base hit.

In a dramatic ending the Chicago Pirates staged a comeback and held on to win
over the Boston Reds by the count of 4 to 3.

Chicago had the game winning rally in the top of the 9th inning scoring 2 runs
using 3 hits. After two outs Charlie Comiskey keyed the rally when he
slapped a single. Dell Darling stepped up next and he slapped a base-hit.
Comiskey stole third and scored when the ball ended up in the outfield. Ned
Williamson came up and he doubled scoring the final run of the inning.
Chicago rapped out 9 hits for the afternoon.

Mark Baldwin(23-16) allowed 3 runs in 8 innings, and picked up the victory.
Frank Dwyer earned his 4th save. Ad Gumbert(12-9) was tagged with the loss.
He pitched 9 innings allowing 9 hits and 2 walks.

King Kelly was not very talkative after his team's tough loss. 'I'm not in
the mood for questions, but I'm sure Comiskey will be glad to talk about the
game as long as you have questions to ask.'
