Pete Dowling pitched a complete game and Fred Clarke hit 2 doubles as the
Louisville Colonels defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 7 to 3 at Eclipse
Park.

Philadelphia was unable to recover after Louisville went ahead in the 2nd
inning as they scored 2 runs on 2 base hits.  Louisville and Philadelphia
each finished the afternoon with 9 hits.  

The victory went to Dowling(10-11) who went the distance allowing 3 runs. The
loss was charged to Ed Murphy(3-4).  He gave up 9 hits and 2 walks in 8
innings.
