In a good matchup it was the Pittsburgh Pirates 12, the Washington Senators 9
at American League Park.

Sam Leever(20-6) was not on his game this afternoon, but the Pittsburgh
offense bailed him out.  He gave up 7 runs, 11 hits and 3 walks in 6 innings.
Pittsburgh provided plenty of action in the 3rd inning which saw them plate
3 runs on 4 hits.  Pittsburgh dominated offensively as they scored in 6
different innings.  

Leever got relief help from Nick Altrock who gained credit for his 11th save.
Deacon Phillippe(20-7) was the loser.  He was hit hard and gave up 14 hits
and 2 walks in 6 innings.
