Second baseman Danny Murphy had 3 base hits as the Philadelphia-AL Athletics
outscored the floundering Philadelphia-NL Phillies in 10 innings 5 to 4.

The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings.  Philadelphia-AL came
out the victor in the 10th inning.  After two were out Freddy Parent drew a
walk.  Billy Sullivan was next and he slapped a single.  Sammy Strang then
laced a base-knock scoring the run.  The teams had been locked in a scoreless
duel until the 6th inning.  

Barney Wolfe(4-7) was the winner allowing no runs in 1/3 of an inning. Willie
Sudhoff recorded his 1st save.  Ambrose Puttmann(4-6) ended up with the loss
in relief.  He gave up 2 hits and 1 walk in 1 inning.
