Dick Hoblitzell smacked 2 triples at West Side Park as the Chicago-NL Cubs
beat the Boston-NL Braves 2 to 1.

Chicago-NL took the lead for good in the 6th inning plating an isolated run
using 2 hits.  Danny Hoffman lashed a single.  Donie Bush followed and he
laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Hoblitzell then tripled scoring the run.  The
game was a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.  

The win was credited to Eddie Plank(17-6) who went 8 and 2/3 innings allowing
1 run. Plank got help from Cliff Curtis who earned his 11th save.  Harry
Gaspar(7-10) was tagged with the loss.
