In a tight game it was the Philadelphia Phillies 5, the Cincinnati Reds 3 at
Palace Of The Fans.

Philadelphia took the lead for keeps in the top of the 7th inning when they
came up with 2 runs on 2 hits.  The critical plate appearance was by Sherry
Magee who silenced the crowd when he doubled bringing home two baserunners.
Philadelphia banged out 9 hits on the afternoon.  

Lew Moren(7-8) got the win allowing 3 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings. Moren got
relief help from Barney Slaughter who gained credit for his 1st save.  George
Suggs(10-12) absorbed the loss.
