Bob Ewing hurled a 3 hitter at Washington Park as the Washington Nationals
beat the Brooklyn Dodgers 7 to 3.

Washington brought 3 runs across the plate in the top of the 4th inning with
the help of 5 hits. The highlight belonged to Ewing who deflated the mood of
the partisan fans when he doubled which was good for two runs. Washington
managed 17 hits in their victory.

Ewing(10-14) was the winner allowing 3 runs for the game. George Suggs(12-10)
took the loss. He was touched for 12 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.

The Washington ballclub's record now stands at 39-71. Still in a bad slump,
with this loss, Brooklyn is 2-8 lately and 55-55 on the year.
