WEB GEMS- Bot 3rd: Eddie Miller robbed Earl Torgeson of a base hit.

Ted Kluszewski had 2 base hits as the New York Yankees outscored the hapless
Philadelphia Phillies in 10 innings 4 to 2.

The score was tied at 2 after nine. New York came out on top in the 10th

Kluszewski followed next and he doubled. Eddie Miller then hit a sacrifice
fly knocking in a run. Frankie Gustine stepped in and he worked the squeeze
play to perfection scoring the final run of the inning. The Philadelphia
bats were silent in the bottom of the 10th.

The victory went to Ken Raffensberger(11-2) who went 2 innings, allowing no
runs. Carl Erskine(0-5) was the losing pitcher in relief. He gave up 3 hits
and 1 walk in 2 innings.
