In an embarrassing outing for the struggling New York Yankees pitching staff,
Cleveland Indians flexed their collective muscle amassing 18 runs as Howie
Fox(10-6), with relief help from Al Brazle, held New York to 1
run.

Cleveland wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning scoring 3
runners on 3 hits. That was all the runs Fox needed. Cleveland kept the
scorekeepers busy in the 5th inning with 7 runs on 5 hits. Cleveland kept
the pressure on throughout the contest as they scored in 6 different innings.

Bill Wight(6-6) was the losing pitcher. He allowed 8 hits and 4 walks in 3
and 1/3 innings.
