WEB GEMS- Bot 2nd: Win Mercer robbed Tommy Dowd of a base hit.

Jake Stenzel had 3 base hits and 2 RBI and Jack Taylor went the distance as
the St. Louis Browns defeated the hapless Washington Senators by the score of
9 to 1 at Robison Field.

Washington fell behind quickly as the St. Louis offense came through in the
first inning when they scored 2 runs on 3 hits. That early run support was
enough for Taylor(13-15) and St. Louis. St. Louis banged out 15 hits on the
afternoon.

Bill Dinneen(3-13) was tagged with the loss. He got hammered, allowing 15
hits and 4 walks in 8 innings.
