Duff Cooley had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Boston Beaneaters staged a
dramatic comeback over the Brooklyn Superbas by a score of 10 to 5 at
Washington Park.

Boston had the game winning rally in the 9th inning when they scored 6 runs on
5 hits.  The highlight belonged to Kid Nichols who silenced Washington Park
as he doubled scoring two baserunners.  Boston rapped out 9 hits for the
afternoon.  

The winning pitcher was Vic Willis(16-7) who allowed 5 runs in 8 innings. Bill
Donovan(11-17) was the losing pitcher.  He pitched 8 and 1/3 innings and
surrendered 6 hits and 8 walks.

Frank Selee was very happy after the game, 'It's great to come back and win it
in your last at bats! Our guys just wouldn't give up.  And did you see the
fans - one minute they're laughing and screaming down all sorts of
unprintable stuff at our guys - the next minute - SILENCE! Yes sir, a very
enjoyable win this afternoon!'
