Jesse Tannehill was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game and Willie Keeler had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the New York
Highlanders topped the Washington Senators in 10 innings by a score of 5 to 4
at Hilltop Park.

The score was tied at 3 after nine.  New York was victorious in the 10th
inning.  Fred Holmes led off and started the attack as he drew a walk.  Wid
Conroy was next and he banged out a single.  Keeler followed, but he was set
down on strikes.  Jack Townsend then bounced one in the dirt for a wild
pitch.  Townsend then was wild with a pitch which scored a run.  Kid
Elberfeld added to the outburst and smacked a single resulting in an exciting
win for New York and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans.
New York banged out 7 hits on the afternoon.  

The victory was credited to Tannehill(18-7) who went the distance, allowing 4
runs. Townsend(4-11) absorbed the loss in relief.  He allowed 2 hits and 2
walks in 1 and 1/3 innings.  

With this win, New York has a 59-45 record. They have been 4-6 lately.  With
the loss, Washington has a record of 3-7 lately, 35-72, worst in the league
overall.
