In a two run game the very talented Chicago-NL Cubs got by the Philadelphia-NL
Phillies by the score of 5 to 3.

Chicago-NL jumped on top of Philadelphia-NL in the bottom of the 4th inning
plating an isolated run using 2 hits.  Philadelphia-NL had a chance to come
back in the 9th but they came up short.  

The victory was credited to Eddie Plank(21-10) who went 8 innings, allowing 3
runs. Chick Robitaille earned his 11th save.  Win Kellum(6-4) was given the
loss.  He pitched 5 innings and surrendered 5 hits and 3 walks.

'It's a disheartening loss, no question about it' said Mark McGonigle 'But we
have to get over it and get ready for the next game.'
