George Stone had 3 base hits as the Detroit Tigers outscored the Pittsburgh
Pirates in 10 innings 5 to 4.

The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings.  Detroit ended up winning it in
the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Ed McFarland lined a single.
Tommy Leach came to the plate and laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Bunk Congalton
then laced a base-hit scoring the run.  Congalton took second on the throw.
Detroit took care of Pittsburgh with no trouble in the bottom of the 10th.

Jesse Tannehill(9-8) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Clark
Griffith(7-5) was the losing pitcher in relief.  The Detroit ballclub's
record now stands at a division leading 64-56.  With this loss, Pittsburgh
has a 5-5 record of late, 61-53 overall.
