TEAM RISP- Cardinals: 0 for 11 Superbas: 5 for 17

Emil Batch had 2 base hits and Doc Scanlan allowed Brooklyn's manager to rest
his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Brooklyn Superbas outscored the
St. Louis Cardinals in 11 innings 4 to 3.

Both teams had scored 2 runs after nine full innings. Brooklyn was victorious
in the 11th inning. Phil Lewis opened up the inning nicely when he lined a
one-base hit. Lewis took off for second and slid in with a stolen base.
After an out was recorded, Charlie Babb then delivered a base-hit scoring a
single run. John Dobbs followed and he stroked a single. Brooklyn continued
their aggressive style with another stolen base. Jimmy Sheckard kept things
alive and ripped a one-base hit making Brooklyn the victors to the delight of
the home town faithful. Brooklyn banged out 16 hits on the afternoon.

The victory went to Scanlan(10-11) who went the distance allowing 3 runs. Jack
Taylor(14-12) was tagged with the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 16
hits and 2 walks in 10 and 1/3 innings.

Brooklyn now has a record of 43-72. With the loss St. Louis now has a record
of 61-57.
