Sam Crawford had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the Boston-NL Braves staged a dramatic
comeback over the Boston-AL Americans by a score of 8 to 7 at South End
Grounds.

Boston-NL won the game with a rally in the 9th inning plating 3 runs using 2
hits. Luther Taylor started the inning off right when he drew a walk. Roy
Thomas stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk. Al Orth then doubled
scoring two teammates. Crawford was up next and he lashed a single resulting
in an exciting win for Boston-NL and a raucous post-game celebration by the
home town fans. A wild affair, this game saw the lead change 7 times.

The victory was credited to Taylor(7-7) who went 2 innings, allowing no runs.
Rube Waddell(5-16) was tagged with the loss in relief. He was knocked around
pretty good, giving up 5 runs in 2 innings.

Taylor and Crawford were really whooping it up in the clubhouse after the
great come from behind victory. As Allan Kaufman noted, 'A win like this one
can do wonders for a team's attitude.' Everyone shares in the joy - the fans,
the players - even you guys - it's better than winning by a dozen runs!'
