Jack Coombs tossed a complete game and Home Run Baker had 2 base hits as the
Philadelphia Athletics defeated the Cleveland Naps by the score of 9 to 5 at
League Park.

In the top of the 7th inning Philadelphia scored 3 runs when they came up with
4 base hits.  The highlight belonged to Jack Barry who silenced the stadium
when he hit a single which was good for two runs.  Philadelphia kept the
pressure on throughout the contest as they scored in 6 different innings.

Coombs(20-11) allowed 5 runs on the game. Gene Krapp(6-10) was the loser. He
allowed 13 hits and 7 walks in 8 and 2/3 innings.  Philadelphia now has a
record of a league leading 70-45.  With the loss, Cleveland has a record of
6-4 lately, 53-63 overall.
